Our client is a specialist automotive manufacturer supplying complex products to automotive OEMs, and this year promises several key product launches and an increase in volumes with further growth planned.
Job Description:
1. Reporting to the Head of Quality, responsible for managing a large team of Quality professionals – Quality Engineers, Technicians, Auditors, Metrology.
2. First point of contact for all OEM and internal customer concerns.
3. Lead 8D problem-solving activity following customer concerns and delegation of work to the team thereafter.
4. Audit systems and processes to IATF16949 standard.
5. Utilise data of quality defects to improve quality processes.
6. Identify areas for quality improvements.
7. Utilisation of six sigma/lean tools to increase efficiencies and improve site quality.
8. Maintain and develop the QMS and quality structure.
9. Work closely with other internal business functions to aid in NPI activities across APQP and PPAP submissions.
Experience:
1. You will already be a competent Quality professional with proven management experience within an automotive tier 1 or OEM background.
2. HNC/Degree in a technical subject or equivalent professional level qualification.
3. Excellent knowledge of quality systems with particular focus on IATF16949.
4. Strong communicator internally and in liaison with demanding OEM customers.
5. Excellent grip of quality problem-solving tools across APQP, 8D, MSA, 5 Whys, and root cause analysis.
6. Excellent grasp of lean six sigma tools - green belt certification preferred.
7. Demonstrate leadership ability to coach and build self-confidence in the team.
