The role
We are currently looking for a number of law clerks to join our General Insurance team in our Melbourne office on a casual, flexible basis, with the opportunity to work up to 38 hours per week during the semester and during holidays, or fewer days during a semester and full time during holidays.
We are looking for candidates who can work a minimum of three days per week.
You will be working directly with Partners and a range of lawyers in an excellent team, and will be provided with appropriate training and support.
You will have the opportunity to undertake meaningful work for real clients, including:
1. Reviewing and redacting documents for production in response to Subpoenas, Summonses and Freedom of Information requests in accordance with relevant statutory secrecy provisions, privileges, policy requirements and relevant legislative protections;
2. Assisting with discovery and summaries of medical material;
3. Conducting legal research.
From time to time, there will be other opportunities, including:
1. Developing technical skills in areas such as drafting and disclosure;
2. Participating in team meetings, training and continuing legal education programs.
