Job Description Overhaul Methods Engineer Full time Hybrid 3 day on site / Derby An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team in Engineering Delivery – ET&S, which is critically important to the success of our business in delivering increased product throughput within our MRO network over the coming years. What you will be doing: As a Methods Engineer, you will join one of our Overhaul Methods Engineering teams and be instrumental in the development and verification of Overhaul Methods and Maintenance Instructions including Engine Assembly / Disassembly Methods, publication of all associated instructions and associated support to our domestic and external MRO Network. Responsibilities: Be part of a team of experienced engineers, driving towards the Engine Team goals focusing on Quality, Cost, Delivery, and development of capability. Drive for Zero Defects using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools as appropriate e.g., Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Process Flow Diagrams, Feasibility Assessments, Measurement Systems Analysis and Manufacturing Acceptance. Work with all functions to reduce risk and drive Right First Time. Plan and manage activities, communicating status to relevant stakeholders. Supporting the MRO Network with implementation of Overhaul Methods providing technical responses to queries (e.g. Technical Variance, Overhaul Information Notice), and supporting Overhaul Method Verification using First Article Inspection Review and Approval (FAIR). Develop your professional competency to enable attainment of signatory authority e.g., Methods Engineering Approvals (inc. Competent Author and Technical Approver), Manufacturing Engineering Authority, Compliance Verification Engineer. Continuously seek to expand knowledge and experience to increase effectiveness in undertaking existing and new activities. HNC or above in Engineering (Mechanical or Aeronautical) Experience of applying the Manufacturing Engineering Skills & Knowledge and the Zero Defects / APQP toolset including PFMEA, MSA, 8D Problem solving, FAIR, Method Verification (MVA), Design for Assembly, Service and MRO.
