Langley Park School for Boys is an exceptional school that ensures excellent academic outcomes for our students. We are a large, inclusive, over-subscribed, 11-18 school with a co-educational Sixth Form. We consistently achieve high academic success, whilst maintaining a commitment to educating the ‘whole child’ through the promotion of sport and the arts as part of a well-rounded curriculum.
We are part of Impact Multi Academy Trust, and we work closely within the Trust with our other three secondary schools and our three primary schools.
We are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Teacher of Music to join our successful department in a high performing school. This is a permanent role that would commence September 2025 and would be suitable for an experienced or newly qualified teacher.
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate will:
* Have an ability to teach Music in a way in which keeps students engaged and stimulated.
* Have a strong understanding of the use of music technology in the classroom.
* Be prepared to make a substantial contribution to the broad and extensive extra-curricular programme in the department and have an ability to motivate and encourage participation.
* Be confident in teaching across all key stages, including GCSE and A Level Music. (There may also be the opportunity to teach some A Level Music Technology but these skills are not essential).
What we have to offer you:
* State of the art building and facilities including a five hundred-seater concert hall
* Purpose-built music department with four teaching rooms (all equipped with Mac minis), six practice rooms and two recording studios
* A sizeable departmental team consisting of four teaching staff, a music administrator and a body of over twenty peripatetic instrumental and vocal teachers
* An extensive programme of extra-curricular activities, performances, trips and overseas tours including collaborative work across the arts
* Committed and hardworking students
* Ongoing professional development and training
* A friendly and supportive working environment
* Opportunities for collaboration with other schools within our Trust
* Free access to a confidential 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provided through Health Assured
We are committed to equality of opportunity for all our staff.
We particularly welcome applicants from ethnic minority backgrounds as they are currently under-represented on our staff body.
We recognise the vital contribution that members of a diverse team make to our students’/pupils’ learning. The range of cultural experiences, differing viewpoints and role models this brings is essential in our Trust and we recognise the gap that would be left in our team offering without these.
