We are looking for a Specialist Children and Young Person Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner who will work within the Halton & Warrington Building Attachment and Bonds Service (BABS) supporting children and families with their mental health.
The post-holder will provide interventions ranging from attachment informed therapeutic interventions, video interactive guidance, psychoeducation, parent interventions, training to internal and external partners on relationships and parent-infant attachment, along with supporting children and families with mild to moderate anxiety and depression, offering specialist interventions to a caseload of clients.
You will have access to full support from the Team Manager and opportunities to develop and grow working in innovative ways.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within the parent-infant mental health service (BABS) supporting children and families with their mental health and attachment relationships.
The post-holder will also provide interventions ranging from attachment informed therapeutic interventions, video interactive guidance, psychoeducation, parent interventions, training to internal and external partners on relationships and parent-infant attachment, along with supporting children and families with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
CLINICAL
Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
Undertake a patient-centred interview which identifies areas where the person wishes to see change and makes an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department’s referral protocols.
Provide a range of information and support for evidence based high-volume low-intensity psychological intervention. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media.
Educate and involve family members/carers if required.
Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the overall number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week.
Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.
Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place.
Operate at all times from an inclusive values base which promotes recovery and respects diversity.
Prepare and present clinical information for all patients on their caseload to clinical case management supervisors.
Engage in and respond to personal development supervision to improve competences and clinical practice.
MANAGERIAL
Monitor, report, and be accountable for key performance indicators for specific staff members.
Assist in the preparation of performance reports where appropriate.
Monitor staff training and CPD compliance and suggest training requirements.
Maintain good relationships with professionals from other agencies.
Attend management team meetings when required.
Be an escalation point for decisions and provide guidance on the suitability of referrals, risk and incidents.
PROFESSIONAL
Ensure client confidentiality is protected at all times.
Stay updated with advances in treatment for common mental health problems.
Participate in individual performance reviews and respond to agreed objectives.
Attend relevant conferences/workshops in line with identified professional objectives.
Person specification
Qualifications
* IAPT Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Working or Primary Care Mental Health Work.
* Evidence of supporting families on caseload.
* Evidence of working to safeguard families.
* Evidence of advanced training in Video Interactive Guidance accreditation.
Experience/Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of IAPT and stepped care.
* Demonstrable post-graduate experience working within IAPT.
* Knowledge and understanding of the role of Primary Care Health Services and Mental Health in Primary Care.
* Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem.
* Ability to support team and managers to deliver individual and team targets.
* Ability to identify underperformance in a supportive and effective way.
* Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care.
* Knowledge of Child Protection and service risk and clinical governance issues.
