An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Finance team at Harrogate and District NHS FT for an experienced System Accountant. This is a specialist post to support the strategic development and operational use of key financial systems.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record and extensive experience in NHS or equivalent experience in a large organisation with complex workforce systems with the ability to work flexibly under pressure to achieve the objectives of the post. Strong communication, IT, numeracy, management, and interpersonal skills are essential as you will be working closely with various stakeholders, and stakeholder engagement is key to the role.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities and duties of the role include:
* Line management and supervision of the Band 4 Finance Systems Officer.
* Pro-actively driving forward the development and enhancements of Oracle eBS, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Procurement systems.
* Leading on the continual development of Financial Systems to provide users with a modern, responsive system that provides the right information at the right time.
* Providing expert advice and support to users of the Oracle Financial system, REACH Reporting System, and Budgeting and Forecasting systems (EPM/ePBCS).
* Assisting with the provision of a robust and efficient reporting service according to strict timetables.
* Managing all financial systems, including maintaining and developing system controls, reviewing processes, and ensuring that associated procedures are fit for purpose.

Qualifications
* Equivalent experience to degree level NVQ level 5 or Professional accountancy qualifications – Certificate Level or Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Member (or nearing completion of membership).
* Qualified with a recognised accountancy body (CCAB / CIMA).
Experience/Skills
* Experience of working in a large organisation with complex management structures.
* Expert knowledge of implementation, development, improvement, and efficient management of financial systems.
* Experience of implementing/developing financial reporting packages.
* Recent/relevant Financial and/or Management Accounting experience.
* High level of knowledge, experience, and technical proficiency with the full Microsoft Office suite.
* Experienced in the use of Oracle.
* Experience of Oracle Fusion, Oracle EPM/Oracle ePBCS, and REACH Reporting.
* Experience in working within the NHS/Foundation Trust.
* Supervision and/or line management experience.
* Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in Finance.
