Machine Operator
£12.00ph - £12.40ph d.o.e + 20 % shift allowance Corby, Monday to Friday 2.00pm - 10.00pm, Permanent
Our client has been established for over 40 years as a leading manufacturer of high-quality precision cutting equipment supplying the wide format printing and sign-making industry and picture framing industries.
As a Machine Operator you will be responsible for the operation and set up of simple parts on machines as assigned by the department supervisor and the inspection of products being produced to ensure all specifications and workmanship standards are met. As experience is gained, you will be trained on set-ups of assigned machines including stripping tooling from previous jobs for which you will receive an increase in remuneration.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Inspect product visually and dimensionally as they are being produced on assigned machines for conformity to specifications
2. Remove all tools from the previous job, ready for the tool specialist to inspect and evaluate tooling condition.
3. Locate, move, load, and feed new material for machines as required.
4. Empty scrap containers as required into designated holders
5. Keep mechanical portions of machine lubricated per maintenance specifications
6. Housekeeping of work area, ensuring H&S regulations are always adhered to.
7. The Operator will verify work order and product drawing for each production job assigned and check raw material
8. Perform all operational maintenance on assigned machines in accordance with operation maintenance procedures.

9. Able to comply with all Company policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations.
10. Possess a high mechanical aptitude and mathematical proficiency.
11. Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
12. Must be reliable and willing to work overtime if required.
13. Reliable and flexible approach to work, with a keen willingness to learn and develop new skills
14. Good team player with a positive, proactive attitude to workload and comfortable working to schedules
15. Experience of working in a similar role
We would expect the successful Machine Operator, to demonstrate previous experience in a similar production role. We are keen to hear from candidates who have worked within manufacturing and assembly, who can work as part of a quality focused team and work well to time deadlines, with 3 weeks of training provided which will be 6.30am - 3.00pm.
