Role and Responsibilities:
* Co-ordinate operational staff undertaking maintenance and construction site works, including the development of safe systems of work plans and subsequent inspections in accordance with management systems.
* Liaise with consultants and contractors planning and undertaking works on clients property, to ensure protection and enhancement of the company assets.
* Co-ordinate site surveys, relevant studies and evaluations of possible works projects, and draw up associated reports.
* Prepare and co-ordinate initial designs, planning submissions, designs for tender, tender documents, tender appraisals and project reviews as required to manage the works programme in accordance with statutory requirements and company's policies and procedures.
* Manage and report on progress of maintenance and construction programmes/ projects to ensure delivery on time, budget and quality.
* Review and make submissions to planning applications that could impact on clients property.
* Work with third party groups and authorities in development of waterway infrastructure, including leveraging of funding or other resources for enhancement of the waterway amenities
* Possess knowledge of the health, safety and welfare legislation relevant to maintenance & capital works, and apply these as appropriate.
* Contribute to and comply with company and Safety Statement and other procedures, including undertaking safety inspections, risk assessments and toolbox talks.
* Undertake all relevant Safety, Health and Wellbeing duties outlined in the clients Ireland's Safety Statement.
* Take account of environmental legislation, directives and issues in the management of capital and maintenance projects
* Assist with company policies, strategies and standards; contributing to the creation of a shared aim for the Body and promoting business culture and values.
* Assist with the development of methods, processes and systems to enhance productivity
Qualifications:
Possess a minimum of 5 years relevant post qualification experience in the design of engineering projects, at least 2 of which should have been in an operational environment.
