Manpower are currently recruiting for a Prep Paint Technicians for a prestigious client based in Reading on a temporary ongoing basis with an immediate start\n\nThe Prep Paint Technician is an integral part of our client's business, the main purpose of this role is;\n\nTo ensure the repair of motor vehicles of all types is carried out to motor manufacturer industry standards or repair methods.\nTo carry out such work in an efficient, safe and economical manner, ensuring the integral quality of the vehicle and its safety is maintained.\nTo employ such knowledge and skills as may be required to restore vehicles to an industry recognised acceptable standard.\n Key responsibilities\n\nTo observe, recognise and report on vehicle structure and paintwork.\nTo ensure that vehicles comply with safety standards when returned to customers, or that faults have been reported and noted on the job card.\nRemoval and safe storage of vehicle components, fluids and gases as directed by work order.\nRemoval and safe disposal of vehicle components and fluids as directed by work order.\nQuality control of all repairs, with final stage sign off.\nTo report all faults, defects noticed whilst working on vehicles.\nTo actively make sure the repair method is in the job pack and is fully read, understood (e-scribe, manufacturer or other source) and displayed with the vehicle at all times.\nTo observe, recognise and report on vehicle structure and paintwork.\nTo interpret and implement technical service instruction data.\nTo indent for replacement parts and record usage.\nPaint repair - to be able to accurately use paint mixing schemes, computerised scales, spray booths and drying lamps.\nTo ensure that vehicles comply with safety standards when returned to customers, or that faults have been reported and noted on job card.\nApplication of topcoat to manufacturer's specification.\nPreparation of repaired areas as directed by work order, in readiness for application of topcoat.\n Skills Required\n\nExperience in prep and polish work within an automotive body shop environment\nKnowledge of sanding, masking, priming, and polishing techniques\nAbility to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards\nA keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering flawless finishes\nTeam player with a proactive attitude\n This is a temporary ongoing position with an immediate start working days paying £19.23 per hour.
