Laundry Assistant
Location: Nursing Home based in Burry St Edmunds, IP33
Salary range: £11.44 per hour
Contract: Permanent, 33 hours per week
A laundry assistant plays a crucial role in a care home, ensuring that residents have clean, fresh clothing and linens. This not only contributes to their comfort and dignity but also helps maintain a hygienic environment, which is essential for their health and well-being. By managing the laundry efficiently, a laundry assistant supports the overall smooth operation of the care home, allowing other staff to focus on providing direct care to residents. Their work, though often behind the scenes, is vital in creating a pleasant and safe living space for everyone.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
* Managing the laundry effectively including washing, drying and ironing residents' clothing, bedding and communal laundry.
* Ensuring the laundry room is kept clean at all times and that there’s a regular supply of detergent and fabric conditioner.
* De-fluffing the tumble dryers daily.
* Managing the collection and distribution of all laundry items to and from residents’ rooms.
* Reporting all safety hazards to management, ensuring Health and Safety standards and COSHH are adhered to at all times.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
* Your attention to detail is sharp, and you take great pride in your work.
* Familiarity with industrial washing machines and laundry presses, as well as prior experience, would be beneficial.
* Experience in a similar role is desired.
