JOB [ Click Apply]a2e54 Job Title: Band 7 Rotational Clinical Pharmacist Location: Lincoln (occasional cover on other sites) Type: Permanent Salary: £43,742 - £50,056 per annum Job Purpose: Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a dedicated and experienced Rotational Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join our client's team, providing high-quality clinical pharmacy services across various specialties. This role involves rotating between different specialties every 6 to 12 months, ensuring a dynamic and comprehensive professional experience. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Pharmacy Services: Deliver clinical pharmacy services to wards and departments, rotating through specialties in alignment with organisational objectives. Exercise professional supervision over dispensing activities for inpatients, outpatients, and aseptically-prepared medicines. Perform clinical checks on prescriptions to ensure appropriateness, effectiveness, and compliance with medicines legislation. Provide dispensing and final checking services, ensuring adherence to the Medicines Management Policy and other relevant guidelines. Specialty Rotation and Training: Participate in a structured rotational training programme, which includes specialty/site rotation and managerial duties. Pursue postgraduate qualifications in clinical pharmacy as appropriate. Pharmacy Management: Supervise pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians, ensuring they work to competency standards. Collaborate with your line manager to identify opportunities for service improvement and manage the quality of care within your specialty. Support the development of clinical guidelines and policies, contributing to the Pharmacy Service Strategy. Clinical Supervision and Risk Management: Act as the supervising pharmacist on rotation in the dispensary, ensuring prescriptions are clinically checked and dispensed accurately. Participate in clinical audits and research initiatives, integrating evidence-based practice into patient care. Manage risks associated with medicine usage, including reporting incidents and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Out-of-Hours Service: Provide out-of-hours, weekend, and bank holiday pharmacist cover as part of the rota, ensuring 24-hour emergency dispensing and information services. Staff Development and Supervision: Engage in the staff development and performance review process, including the training and supervision of junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Contribute to the local training and education programmes for pharmacy, nursing, medical, and other healthcare professionals. Person Specification: Essential Qualifications: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. Completion of 1-year pre-registration pharmacy training. Registered member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Desirable Qualifications: Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience. Supervisory experience and management training. Experience: Experience in clinical pharmacy services and delivery of medicines management standards. Skills and Attributes: Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence prescribing practices. Excellent time management, prioritisation, and communication skills. Competence in using pharmacy computer systems and ensuring accurate medication supply. Additional Requirements: Flexibility to travel between hospital sites and for on-call duties.
