The Role
As a College Cleaner, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our prestigious College campus. Your mission? To create an environment where students can thrive, faculty can inspire, and visitors can be welcomed with a smile.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities:
1. Thoroughly clean and sanitise various areas of the workplace, including offices, classrooms, break rooms, and common areas, to ensure a hygienic and safe environment for staff, students, and visitors.
2. Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, carpets, and other surfaces to remove dirt, debris, and allergens, maintaining a clean and tidy appearance.
3. Collect, separate, and dispose of trash, recyclables, and hazardous materials in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations, promoting a clean and eco-friendly workspace.
4. Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other consumables as needed, ensuring that essential items like hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper are always available.
5. Identify and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel, helping to address issues such as broken fixtures, leaks, or damaged equipment promptly to maintain a safe and functional workplace.
Main Tasks:
1. Use cleaning materials as instructed by the Cleaning Manager and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Vacuum all carpeted areas and mop/wash all hard floor surfaces, including machine clean, as directed by the Facilities Manager and Domestic Services Manager.
3. Empty and clean bins and remove all rubbish to designated areas.
4. Undertake spot cleans as required and directed by the Facilities Manager and Domestic Services Manager.
5. Attend to spillages, clear and clean as required.
6. Ensure appropriate wet floor signage is displayed during the floor drying process.
7. Replenish toilet rolls and hand soaps to toilets as required.
8. Report all defects to the Domestic Services Manager immediately.
Essential Criteria
1. Be willing to undertake appropriate training on any current and new equipment to aid the cleaning process.
2. Understanding of cleaning chemical usage restrictions and protocols.
3. Previous experience in the building cleaning industry.
4. The ability to identify and use the appropriate cleaning products and methods in certain areas.
5. Good Customer Service Skills.
6. Builds positive relationships with others, maintaining mutual trust, candour and respect.
