The Role
We are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join Eastlight Community Homes on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for leading the establishment, management, and continuous improvement of the Eastlight Health and Safety (H&S) Management framework. You will ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation whilst developing and driving H&S strategies, systems, and processes that benefit Eastlight’s employees, customers, contractors, and visitors to our hubs.
The H&S Manager will advise on statutory requirements, monitor H&S performance, collaborate with staff to embed a positive H&S culture, develop training programs, conduct audits, and lead incident investigations to ensure a safe working environment across all services. You will also prepare policies, procedures, improve corporate understanding, and provide accurate management information, reports and assurance to senior leadership, forums, committees and the Board whilst managing and developing your direct reports.
As Easlight’s subject matter expert, you will have proven operational experience in a similar H&S role, preferably within the housing sector. You will have a strong understanding of H&S legislation and best practices in building construction and design, Construction Design and Management (CDM) processes and preferably an understanding of landlord compliance. You will have significant experience in embedding a positive H&S culture and mitigating H&S risk, including creating and supporting colleagues with related policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to influence across all levels, and line management experience. You will also be able to collate and interpret management information, and be able to manage the design and implementation of health, safety and environmental management systems whilst ensuring a customer first focus throughout.

* Up to £62,000 per annum
* Full time/Permanent contract
* Group stakeholder pension plan (Eastlight will double, up to 5% of the employee’s contribution - Employee 5% + Eastlight 10% = Total 15%)
