Contract type 16 hours per week. This is a part-time 2 year fixed term post. This role is part funded by the Scottish Land Fund. Flexible working available. Normal working days are Monday – Friday. May include occasional evening and weekend working. Location Hybrid working available. Requirement to work from base in modern office at The Strathdearn Hub (Tomatin) and onsite in Hazelbank Wood (entry point 5 mins walk from the Hub). Some working from home by arrangement. Main duties and responsibilities Reporting to the General Manager, the post sits within Strathdearn Community Development Ltd (SCD). The postholder will be required to coordinate operational project delivery and stakeholder management. Co-ordinate and implement access management and day to day operations of the woodland site in line with management plans and budgets. Lead on volunteer recruitment and community engagement through various methods of publicity including social media. Support any community subgroup interested in woodland management. Plan, supervise and co-ordinate practical volunteer tasks and community engagement which contribute towards the delivery of site management objectives with the aim of connecting people and nature. Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders, including contractors and acting as a point of contact for the community on woodland matters. Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to and always implemented. Assist in the production of high quality informative and interpretative material that supports and promotes the woodland in a sustainable way. Identify funding opportunities to secure financial support for future site management within the project, ensuring all work is carried out within the agreed budget and timescales. Assist in identifying opportunities for educational activities, including wellbeing projects. Carry out administration and monitoring tasks appropriate for work areas including provision of records of contractor work, site surveys and annual tree audits.
