We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client to lead and support the commercial function across multiple projects. The role will cover all project types within the business and require a high level of assistance in the day-to-day commercial function and process of the business. The role will be office based in South Bermondsey with travel to site for meetings and visits as required. Proven track record in quantity surveying with at least 6 years’ experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Represent the company professionally at all times when liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
* Lead collaboration across Estimating, Pre-Construction, Design, Document Control, and Operational teams to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
* Oversee the development and use of project trackers, ensuring clarity in data purpose and analysis.
* Prepare and manage monthly applications, interim valuations, and rolling final accounts.
* Lead on the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
* Monitor and manage project retentions and ensure timely recovery.
* Oversee subcontractor procurement and manage subcontractor accounts, applications, and payments.
* Manage all aspects of change control, including the preparation and issuance of contractual notices.
* Administer document control systems, both client-facing and internal.
* Review design drawings, track changes, and ensure appropriate communication and documentation.
* Evaluate and price contract variations and manage change logs across all projects.
* Prepare cost and value reconciliations and forecast cost-to-complete reports.
* Attend client and internal meetings, ensuring accurate records and contractual protection.
* Analyse tender allowances for labour, materials, plant, and subcontractors.
* Prepare and manage project cash flow forecasts.
* Monitor and report on project progress against programme.
* Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
* Prepare and submit required contractual documentation, notices, and analysis reports.
* Analysis of costs
* Analysis of subcontractor applications and accounts
* Logging and tracking change on all contracts
* General admin and filling and storing of information accross the network
* Support and guide Assistant Quantity Surveyors and junior team members.
Objectives & Goals:
* Deliver high-quality commercial leadership, ensuring efficient financial management across all projects.
* Continuously improve commercial procedures, contributing to the ongoing development of the business.
* Provide strategic support to the Senior Commercial Manager and other senior stakeholders.
* Foster strong working relationships across internal teams and external partners, assisting with training and support to the operational teams to ensure proper Contractual administration of projects
* Drive contractual compliance and promote best practice commercial governance.
Responsible For:
Providing full quantity surveying services across projects while mentoring and supporting junior commercial staff. The role may involve additional duties as reasonably required within the scope of the position
