Description Our transport control centre in Beeston, Nottingham, keeps the Wincanton Group Transport network moving An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Transport Co-ordinator at our multiuser Beeston site, working as part of a team you will be responsible for the planning and coordinating our subcontracted hauliers to meet the demands of the business. You will be responsible for managing our extensive subcontractor network with a view to finding the most cost-effective solution, whilst delivering to Wincanton’s high-level service levels. By building close working relationships with other planning centres within the business, you will ensure that Wincanton fleet utilisation is always maximised. Timely reports and management of administration is vital to enable the finance teams to produce accurate trading numbers. 40 hours per week Monday- Friday. Rotating early and late shifts during the hours of 7am to 5pm Key Responsibilities Manage all orders through transport management system and ensure they are planned onto the appropriate resource. Ensure that the most cost-effective route to market is used and that all customer specific requirements are met. Drive backhaul volume through the fleet by working with the wider network. Work with Haulier Relationship Managers to manage sub contraction performance and rates, introducing new hauliers where possible. Ensure reports and details are accurate for the finance team. Financially aware and ensures profitability is maximised by ensuring plans are efficient. Manage customer relationships ensuring that communication is good, and issues are highlighted and dealt with quickly and appropriately. Suggesting improvements and working with the Customers team to maximise efficiency. What will you bring? Experience in a transport or logistics environment with responsibility for haulier co-ordination or planning is highly valued but not essential. Experience in a call centre, sales role or office customer service (or similar environment) is required. Previous experience of Transport Management systems is advantageous Operationally focused and able to deliver a high-quality service to customers Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Highly self-organised, able to plan and prioritise workload and manage changing priorities to meet strict deadlines. Demonstrate consistently high attention to detail. Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills. What do we offer?
