An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Pain Service. We are seeking an experienced individual who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about the provision of high quality care and able to demonstrate an interest in pain management. You will join a small established multidisciplinary team working in partnership with Chronic Pain and Inpatient Pain, between Bensham and Queen Elizabeth hospital sites.
Main duties of the job
The key aspects of the role will be to provide specialist advice on acute and chronic pain conditions for adults and the clinical teams caring for them. You will be required to undertake nurse led clinics and also to review and plan care for post-operative patients. You will provide education for patients and other healthcare professionals.

Job responsibilities
You will work autonomously, managing your own caseload within a supportive team environment. You will liaise with a wide range of healthcare professionals both within the secondary and primary care setting. You will need to be a confident individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate the leadership ability to help shape the future for nurse led services within the pain service. You will have a proactive approach towards continuous professional development and the desire for higher academic achievement and be willing to undertake the independent and supplementary prescribing qualification.
