Job Description:
Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Workshop Supervisor (Mechanical) to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation of our workshop, overseeing the maintenance and repair of submersible pumps, and contributing to our strategic growth plans. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical tools and a solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and lead the workshop team in the maintenance, repair, and installation of submersible pumps.
* Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards and in compliance with safety regulations.
* Manage the workflow and scheduling of tasks to meet project deadlines.
* Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on all equipment and repairs.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities using computer systems.
* Assist in the development and implementation of our 5-10 year growth strategy in line with AMP8 and beyond.
* Provide technical support and training to workshop staff.
* Ensure the workshop is well-organised, clean, and stocked with necessary tools and parts.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Workshop Supervisor or similar role in a mechanical environment.
* Extensive hands-on experience with submersible pumps, particularly Flygt, Tsurumi, and Grundfos.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to use computer systems for record-keeping and communication.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Relevant technical or vocational qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field.
* Experience in the water industry or similar sectors.
* Familiarity with AMP8 and its requirements.
