Long-Term Teachers are working closely with a fantastic special school based in the heart of Plymouth that is looking for a cover supervisor/HLTA to join the team in providing support across the school. The school looks after a range of special needs but is primarily an SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) environment.
I have supported schools across the trust for a long time now and the feedback from candidates couldn’t have been more complimentary about both the school and how supported they feel.
About the role:
The role of a cover supervisor/HLTA is incredibly varied. Your responsibilities will be mixed between providing cover in leading pre-planned lessons as well as providing support as a TA. You will essentially be used as the school’s all rounder!
Due to the nature of this role, it is essential you are adaptable, proactive, confident, enthusiastic and feel confident in leading classes. As the needs of the students are SEMH, it is essential that you feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour and have worked with special needs in some capacity.
