The opportunity
Due to projects ramping up, our client is currently seeking an experienced EC&I Engineer to join their talented team of nuclear specialists at the forefront of a sustainably led future.
The role
As an EC&I Engineer, you will produce engineering design work packages (specification, drawing, analysis, verification or assessment of engineering) that satisfy the legal and functional requirements along with the associated performance conditions to the agreed time, cost and quality.
This role has been deemed inside IR35.
Duration: 12 months +
Location: Moor Row, Cumbria.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
You will support the CE&I Engineering Lead and Senior CE&I delivery Engineer and experience of the following is preferred:
1. Site Surveys of electrical assets.
2. Design of services, Plant/Site modification (design and implementation).
3. Support the production of engineering documentation and drawings, including but not limited to; Site Survey Reports, Single Line Diagrams (including protection diagrams), Cable Routing, Block Cable Diagrams, CDM Risk Assessments, Cable Calculations, Cable Cards, Outline Installation Method Statements, CAE, input to optioneering, etc.
4. BIM input where required.
5. Support to Single Discipline Design Review & Production of Minutes of Meetings.
6. Support to Multi Discipline Design Review & Production of Minutes of Meetings.
The role will involve the production of engineering deliverables to support design development through concept, preliminary and detail design phases as required to the appropriate project Standards.
Visits to Site in line with Project requirements will also be required.
You will have the following qualifications and experience:
You must have significant demonstrable experience in CE&I Project Delivery.
Experience of the design delivery of building electrical services.
Competent in the application of CDM Regulation.
Competent in the application of IET wiring Regulations.
Experience of space management, cable routing and cable management.
Have the ability to work as part of an integrated delivery team, and individually, working within sometimes restrictive time constraints.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Degree qualified CE&I Engineer (or equivalent through enhanced experience).
It's great if you also have the following:
Experience in use of AutoCAD.
Experience in use of AVEVA electrical or similar CE&I design packages.
Experience of any nuclear industry CE&I Design.
The setting for the role:
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
