Are you an experienced General Paediatrician looking to advance your career in a new environment? At North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, we offer a supportive setting where you can thrive and make a real impact on patient care.
Join our dedicated team of 15 General Paediatricians at Peterborough City Hospital, where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality care services to children facing acute medical challenges.
While we would ideally like a Paediatrician with an interest in Diabetes and experience treating Paediatric Haemoglobinopathy patients, it's not a strict requirement. If you're eager to develop skills in these areas, we're here to support and guide you every step of the way.
Your well-being is important to us, and we're open to discussing flexible working arrangements to help you find the right work/life balance.
Main duties of the job
The role involves 10 PAs as part of your sessional commitments. Any necessary adjustments to the job plan will be discussed with the Clinical Lead to ensure effective service delivery. You will also be required to participate in on-call duties, being part of the 1:12 consultant on-call rota.
Your contributions will include involvement in the paediatric outpatient service, where you will engage in general paediatric clinics as well as potentially subspecialty clinics focused on diabetes and red cell disorders.
As a senior staff member, you'll have the opportunity to teach and oversee trainee paediatricians, VTS trainees, and medical students. Additionally, you will be responsible for your own professional development and the growth of the junior staff members under your guidance.
Active participation in clinical governance and the National Paediatric Diabetes Audit programme is essential, including the continuous revision and update of guidelines.
In this senior position, you will take part in teaching and training junior staff, medical students, and allied health professionals (AHPs), while also engaging in the Trust's clinical governance and audit processes, as well as ongoing professional development activities.
