A fantastic, top 100 Birmingham firm, known to us as a client for many years, is keen to add an experienced Trust Caseworker to their already impressive Trusts team on a full time basis. Based in well-equipped offices in an impressive setting, close to commuter links, the Trust Caseworker will benefit from working with a cohesive team of Lawyers, Administrators, and Fee Earners to deliver a high quality of a full range of Trust Caseworker duties in Birmingham.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Trust Caseworker:
1. Inputting data into the firm’s standard trust accounting tools.
2. Management and administration of trusts to include preparation of all related accounting records and HMRC returns.
3. Assisting with the completion of tax returns and tax deduction certificates.
4. Corresponding with banks, investment managers, and others regarding funds and investments held on behalf of clients.
5. Corresponding with various parties regarding the administration of assets held within a trust, involving liaising between parties to obtain instructions and forwarding these on as appropriate.
6. Making payments to beneficiaries.
7. Responsibility for running files under supervision.
Skills Required:
1. Extensive relevant experience in Private Client / Trusts.
2. Strong IT keyboard skills.
3. Good written English.
4. A strong grasp of numbers and experience working with and manipulating data in Excel or similar.
5. Experience of preparing sets of trust accounts and related tax paperwork.
6. Ability to build strong working relationships with a range of people.
7. A clear and sympathetic telephone manner.
8. Ability to work productively under pressure and meet deadlines.
