Role : SHE Manager, 3 month contract - INSIDE IR35, £500 - £600 per day *depending on experience
Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire – Single Manufacturing Site
Reporting to : Head of Operations
Direct Reports: 1 SHE Co-ordinator
HSE Recruitment Network is representing a renowned food manufacturing company based in Holbeach who are seeing an experienced Interim - Safety, Health and Environment Manager. You will be based on a single complex and fast paced site who make products for major supermarkets.

Main responsibilities:
1. Create and drive SHE strategies (in line with the overall site strategy) to enable delivery of a proactive SHE culture across the entire site, providing a valuable competitive edge to the business through the behaviour of its people.
2. Coach and mentor the SHE Co-ordinator ( on site) to ensure effective performance.
3. Offer sound environmental focused advice to the site, looking after the consent to discharge and environmental permits.
4. Ensure all Health, Safety and Environment legal requirements, policies, standards, procedures are interpreted, communicated, documented and systems exist to ensure the site is compliant with current legislation and company policy regarding SHE.
5. Develop, implement, maintain, communicate and continuously improve the Health, Safety and Environment management system for the business, ensuring that all relevant paperwork and reports are completed and issued to relevant parties as required.
6. Design, implement, monitor and report site SHE performance, analyse trends and develop actions plans to deliver site targets regarding SHE.
7. Identification and coordination of SHE training and development for managers, enabling effective management of SHE in every respect and ensuring that key personnel involved in Health & Safety activities are competent to fulfil their responsibilities.
8. Ensure all incidents are investigated, recorded and reported, identifying and recommending improved practices to reduce accidents. Notification of incidents to enforcement authorities as required.
9. Monitor site risk assessment process and provide assistance / advice to site assessors to ensure site risk assessments / safe systems of work are maintained and meet regulatory requirements.
Essential Experience, Training and Qualifications:
10. Prior Safety, Health and Environmental experience at Managerial level
11. High risk, fast paced manufacturing experience
12. NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent
