An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NHS North Cumbria Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression service to appoint an experienced High Intensity CBT Therapist. The post will involve a combination of remote and face-to-face working.
As part of CNTW North Cumbria Talking Therapies, we provide a range of evidenced-based psychological interventions for people presenting with common mental health problems such as depression and a range of anxiety disorders. The service delivers interventions within a stepped model of care and our team includes a wide range of professionals, including Counsellors, CBT Therapists, and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners. We are a growing service based in North Cumbria and are continually looking for ways to improve and develop our offerings to clients. We operate 8am-8pm weekdays with some weekend work when required. Main Duties of the Job
The role of a High Intensity CBT Therapist involves delivering high-quality, time-limited, evidence-based therapy as recommended by NICE guidelines. Some of the responsibilities include:
* Assessing a patient's suitability for CBT interventions.
* Formulating, implementing, and evaluating patient therapy programmes.
* Assessing patient risk.
* Providing CBT interventions, such as psycho-educational interventions, guided self-help, and computerised CBT.
* Using a range of delivery methods, such as face-to-face, telephone, and web-based support.
* Undertaking clinical supervision on a regular basis in line with relevant professional guidelines and service policies.
* Keeping accurate records of clinical activity and using these in clinical decision-making.
The successful applicant will meet all of the essential criteria as outlined in the person specifications and will be a qualified High Intensity CBT Therapist with experience of working with a range of mental health issues. You will need excellent communication skills and will need to be comfortable working both alone and as part of the wider team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Achieved qualification in a BABCP approved core qualification.
Experience
* Experience in working in mental health services.
* Significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and demonstrating the competencies as required.
Skills and Aptitude
* Full range of skills and competencies as laid out in the CBT competence framework (Roth and Pilling 2007), including disorder-specific competencies.
