Based on-site at HMP Bedford, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate Functional Skills Maths Tutor to make a meaningful impact. You will deliver Functional Skills Maths up to Level 2, working with small groups of learners to develop their skills, increase confidence, and support their long-term aspirations. Key Responsibilities: Deliver Functional Skills Maths Courses: Provide engaging and interactive sessions up to Level 2, tailored to individual learning needs. Plan and Implement Effective Training: Develop structured learning plans that support learner progression and achievement. Motivate and Inspire Learners: Use a variety of teaching methods to engage learners, boost confidence, and encourage participation. Assess and Track Progress: Regularly evaluate learner development, providing feedback, guidance, and additional support where required. Prepare Learners for Success: Support learners in achieving qualifications, developing numeracy skills, and improving employability prospects. Promote Positive Learning Environments: Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages rehabilitation and personal growth. Essential/Desirable Criteria: Essential Requirements: A Level 3 Maths qualification or equivalent. Substantial experience in Maths education or training delivery. Passion for education and the ability to inspire learners from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners. Desirable: A teaching or assessing qualification (PTLLS, AET, CET, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one. Previous experience in a prison education or rehabilitative learning environment. If you do not currently hold a teaching qualification, full support will be provided to achieve one as part of your probationary period.
