The role

The Electrical Project Manager will be responsible for handling electrical jobs from the initial customer enquiry through to the successful execution of the electrical works. We are seeking someone who is highly motivated and committed to support the company’s growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Management of the Electrical team, including regular meetings and appraisals.
2. Liaise with customers to develop and propose solutions to customer requirements.
3. Attending and estimating electrical jobs including installations, testing, remedial work, and repairs.
4. Prepare tender packages and the production of quotations for new works, electrical testing, and additional work on existing projects.
5. Management and scheduling of projects with sub-contract and in-house labour.
6. Being a point of contact for the customer and informing them of progress.
7. Keeping the company management system up to date for the jobs you are running.
8. Management of electricians and subcontractors and answering any site queries.
9. Management and maintenance of Quality, Health, and Safety on site.
The role will require you to run multiple electrical projects successfully whilst meeting defined timescales and quality standards in an organised manner. You will need to:
1. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including all aspects of Health and Safety on electrical work, including the production of risk assessments and method statements.
2. Produce and/or sign off any electrical test sheets or documentation required on the work.
3. Plan the delivery of agreed solutions and manage from enquiry stage right through to completion, including organising the labour working on the job.
4. Deliver Electrical works on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
5. Order materials and check they are correct for site, including obtaining supplier quotations.
6. Attend site progress meetings and client meetings as required.
7. Assist with site commercial and technical queries.
8. Prepare quotes for any additional works and new work.
9. Ensure all site documentation is being completed (test sheets, point of work risk assessments, electrical permits, etc.).
10. Issue final documents to the client (drawings, certificates, O&M manuals).
11. Work with the NICEIC qualifying supervisors to ensure best practice on installations, maintaining the company’s high standards.
It's essential that you have:
1. At least five years of relevant professional experience in an electrical or electrical engineering role.
2. Level 3 City and Guilds Electrical Technical Certificate.
3. NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations.
4. City and Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
5. Health and safety awareness and the ability to produce method statements and risk assessments.
6. Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
7. The ability to prioritise work and work to deadlines.
8. Excellent attention to detail.
9. The confidence and ability to work unsupervised and to supervise other electricians.
10. An appetite to learn new skills.
11. The ability to work well within a team.
12. Competence in the use of IT with knowledge of Microsoft products.
It's desirable but not essential that you have:
1. City and Guilds 2391 Test and Inspection Qualification or equivalent.
2. Previous experience working in a managerial position.
Additional Information:
1. The job will be primarily based at our offices at Beezon Road in Kendal, but will involve attending customer sites as and when required. Hybrid working may also be available.
2. Normal working hours are 40 hrs per week Monday to Friday, but there may be the need to work outside these hours throughout the week and occasionally at weekends.
3. Ideal candidates would live in or around the Cumbria/Lancashire area or be willing to relocate to the area.
4. Your salary will be based on your qualifications and experience.

Pay: £47,500.00-£52,500.00 per year
