Civil Engineer - Required for my client to join their office in Cross Hills, West Yorkshire.
The client is well known for delivering nationwide complex design solutions across commercial, leisure, and residential sectors, providing tender-winning designs for both developers and design/construct contractors.
The ideal Civil Engineer will have a degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant subjects. Experience using AutoCAD and Civils 3D, plus Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The successful Civil Engineer will be required to provide support to Project Managers and Team Leaders by providing technical expertise in all aspects of civil engineering on construction projects such as: drainage (including SuDS), cut and fill, pavement design, external levels, flood risk assessments, and knowledge of highway design elements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Negotiate with drainage utilities, the Environment Agency, and the lead local flood authority.
* Manage and issue drawings for construction at both the office and site level.
* Progress various section agreements in accordance with the Highways Act & Water Industry Act.
* Liaise with clients to achieve their business goals by providing technical solutions and advice.
* Provide support to Project Managers and Team Leaders by offering technical expertise in all aspects of civil engineering on construction projects.
* Ensure that projects are delivered to cost, schedule, technical, and quality standards to meet both the clients' and PWA expectations.
* Review drawings prepared by the CAD team.
* Prepare design calculations, drawings, and reports where necessary.
* Carry out site visits, surveys, and inspections.
Minimum Requirements:
* Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant subjects.
* Experience with Micro Drainage/Windes.
* Proven experience in drainage, preferably in the housing industry.
* Experience with Section Agreements.
* Experience with MS Office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
* Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civils 3D.
* 5+ years of UK experience.
* Confident working under minimum supervision and competent to check the work of others and supervise less experienced or junior staff.
