The School
The successful SEN Teacher applicant would be joining an outstanding SEN school in Southwark for children with ASD, ADHD, MLD, and challenging behaviors. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximize learning opportunities and meet pupils' specific needs, allowing the students to gain independence and life skills using a student-centered curriculum.
SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement personalized educational programs based on a curriculum that centers around students' needs.
2. Work with individualized care plans to maximize student potential, development, and success.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
4. Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
5. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the SEN Teacher in the classroom.
6. Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
7. Work with and lead a support team within the classroom.
SEN Teacher Qualifications:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
2. Strong knowledge of ASD.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to lead a team of Teaching Assistants.
