Warehouse Manager (019jc) – Beckenham – £40 to 50k + Benefits
This client, a niche events management company, is seeking to recruit a Warehouse Manager to lead their team at one of their depot locations in this demanding and key role within the company.
You will be reporting to the Director of Operations, and you will have full day-to-day responsibility for the warehouse function as well as a team of between 10 to 12. The management team has a shared commitment to providing profitable delivery of services combined with outstanding standards of quality within the management of resources and the delivery of services to each other and our clients.
Within this commitment, you are responsible for:
1. Full day-to-day management of the team, including ongoing training and development, recruitment, discipline, payroll/timesheets, and delegation of tasks.
2. Providing overall management and ensuring deliverables are achieved by the team, implementing procedures to reduce errors and loss/damage to stock.
3. Ensuring that stock leaving the warehouse returns in the same condition, including all accessories, and ensuring all equipment is maintained and tested.
4. Maintaining and updating the inventory system, ensuring accuracy.
5. Liaising, both internally and externally as required.
6. Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy, and organized at all times.
7. Working closely with the existing team and interacting with other departments such as Operations, Project Managers, and Venue Partnership on a daily basis.
8. Oversight of kit, preparing for events in a timely manner.
9. Maintenance of company assets.
10. Enforcing Health & Safety policies such as COSHH and keeping up to date with all new legislation, including carrying out HSE and Risk Assessments as needed.
To be eligible for this role, you will need the following:
1. Experience working in a warehouse or logistics.
2. Demonstrable customer service experience.
3. Computer literate.
4. Service improvement experience.
5. A creative but logical analytical approach to problem-solving.
6. A self-starter, capable of working on own initiative with a drive to achieve goals and a willingness to be accountable.
7. Meticulous attention to detail, including documentation standards.
8. Personable and able to build good working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
9. Ability to interact effectively with regulatory authorities or statutory bodies.
10. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
11. Commitment to team working.
12. Flexible, adaptive, and proactive approach.
The ideal candidate would have a technical stores background, as you will be responsible for the hi-tech equipment used in shows/exhibitions, ensuring all equipment is fully accounted for and fit for purpose when next needed.
