Dunbar Education is delighted to recruit on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Wolverhampton for a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA). This full-time position involves working 1:1 with a child with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), providing tailored support to enhance their educational experience and personal development. The role is set to commence in April 2025 and will run until at least July 2025, with the possibility of extension based on school needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with Severe Learning Difficulties, adapting activities to meet their individual needs. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons. Support the child's physical, emotional, and educational development in collaboration with school staff and external professionals. Promote a safe, positive, and nurturing environment to encourage independence and confidence. Monitor and record the child's progress, reporting to the SENCO and class teacher as required.What We're Looking For: Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, particularly Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children's unique needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential if you have proven experience.
