Job Description
1. Manage and lead the instrument & control Engineering Team.
2. Supervise and allocate work to engineers and designers.
3. Prepare scopes of work and estimates to support proposals.
4. Deliver the engineering design scope to budgets and programmes.
5. Co-ordinate/liaise with other Engineering disciplines/client/package vendors.
6. Design authority for all instrument & control
7. Prepare, check and/or approve design calculations, specifications, data sheets, reports, scope of work and drawings to British/International Standards and Codes of Practice.
8. Monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and client standards.
9. Provide specialist design input to 3D models.
10. Prepare Technical Analysis of proposals provided by equipment manufacturers and contractors.
11. Interpret vendor and other discipline drawings/information.
12. Attend and participate in safety reviews, risk reviews, planning reviews, model reviews and constructability reviews.
13. Identify and raise scope changes.
14. Comply with Company Quality Manager Systems.
15. Other professional duties as reasonably required.
What we expect of you?
16. Background in Heavy Engineering/Chemical/Petrochemical/Oil & Gas Industries preferred.
17. Minimum of 10 years of instrument & control experience, preferably in oil & gas, chemicals and/or other high hazard process industries
18. Appropriate Technical Engineering Degree and preferably a Chartered Engineer with an appropriate institution
19. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
20. Ability to allocate work appropriately to design staff and monitor progress to meet project needs
21. Ability to work in both design office and operating plant environments
22. Comfortable dealing directly with both Clients and Vendors at all levels of the business
23. Expertise using MS office suite and some knowledge of AutoCAD
24. Knowledge of ATEX and equipment for electrically hazardous areas
25. Knowledge or experience of Functional Safety, preferably holding a suitable FS qualification
