About the Role Renowned for our expertise in fine art, antiques, motor cars, and jewellery, we are currently seeking a talented Photographer to join our studio based in Knightsbridge, London. As a Photographer at Bonhams, you will report to the Photography Production Manager, responsible for capturing images for our catalogues, advertising materials, and website. While you will engage in both studio and on-site photography, the focus of the role will be within our 2D flat art studio, photographing artworks for our fine art sales. Your work will include post-production, file management, and uploading images to our database. Additionally, you will manage photo lists, liaise with art handlers, meet deadlines consistently, and be prepared to travel as needed. In your role as Photographer, you will: Key responsibilities Photograph property for catalogues, advertisements, and website content, with a primary focus on 2D flat artwork. Work in both studio and off-site locations, ensuring the safe handling of property. Adhere to department standards and best practices across various sale categories. Retouch images and maintain quality and consistency throughout. Manage photography deadlines effectively. Maintain and organise photography equipment and studio sets. Administrative duties Process and manage files efficiently Upload files to our company database Create and update photo lists as needed Key Skills and Experience Minimum of 1 year of professional studio experience Familiarity with both Canon and Hasselblad systems Proficiency in photographing a diverse range of property, including 2D and 3D artworks Knowledgeable about studio lighting techniques and catalogue photography Experience using Capture One, Phocus, and Adobe Photoshop Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach Passion for photography and a dedication to staying updated with industry trends Comfortable working with Mac platforms and skilled in file management systems Strong multitasking abilities with meticulous attention to detail Excellent prioritisation skills to consistently meet deadlines Physical capability to lift up to 16 Kgs and engage in physical tasks throughout the workday What we offer Some of our benefits and perks include: 28 days holidays (including Bank Holidays), increasing to 33 with service Healthcare and Life Assurance Enhanced maternity and paternity leave Cycle to Work Scheme Season Ticket Loan If you wish to apply, please send your CV and cover letter by the 20th January 2025 at midnight.
