We are looking for a Compliance Assistant to join our Business Services Division at the Firm’s Head Office in Cambridge. This is a newly created role that would suit a pro-active individual looking to develop their career in compliance.
This position is Monday to Friday, ideally 25+ hours per week up to a maximum of 37.5 hours.

What will you be doing?
1. Assist with coordination and conducting compliance audits across the firm and reporting the findings to the Compliance Officer.
2. Assist with the allocation and monitoring of legal and compliance training across the firm, maintaining a central record for compliance purposes.
3. Supporting the firms Anti Money Laundering processes (50%), including but not limited to:
1. dealing with day-to-day queries from the firm’s 180+ staff
2. conducting anti money laundering checks on more complex cases and higher risk clients and referring these for external review when necessary
3. ongoing monitoring of existing Anti Money Laundering checks
4. assisting with monthly and twice-yearly audits to ensure compliance with procedures
5. reviewing and communicating updates to the High-Risk Country list to the firm’s staff
6. reviewing and communicating changes to the Anti Money Laundering currency thresholds to the firm’s staff
7. assisting the Compliance Officer with reviews and updates to the firms Anti Money Laundering Risk Assessment, Policy and Procedures.
4. Supporting the firms Data Protection processes (20%), including but not limited to:
1. assisting the Compliance Officer with data breach management
2. reviewing and completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments
3. Implementation and monitoring of staff training.
5. General Compliance support (20%), including:
1. assisting the Compliance Officer with complaints and dispute resolution
2. fee recovery analysis
3. updating terms of business as directed by the Compliance Officer.
6. Being a contact point for the firm’s staff for low level Health & Safety / Facilities Management matter and maintaining the firm’s maintenance log to ensure all servicing requirements are completed in a timely manner. (10%)
What will it take to be successful?
1. Ideally, you will have experience of the compliance requirements within the Estate / Lettings Agency sector and a good knowledge of Anti Money Laundering Regulations and Data Protection (GDPR)
2. Strong attention to detail
3. Excellent administrative and organisational skills
4. Methodical and able to communicate with others clearly
5. Must be able to work to deadlines and at times, under pressure
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
7. Full driving license and use of own car which is insured for business use, desirable.
