Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Salary: Starting at £39,403.08
After completion of training (6-8 weeks) - on-call allowance £5,868.32 Salary total= £45,288.40
Overtime - 1 x 1.5
Realistic earnings of £65,000+ p/a

Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 15:30
On call: 1 week in 4, 15:30 - 07:00 (Mon - Sun)
JOB PURPOSE:
Working as part of the Engineering Service Support Team, the role will involve carrying out PPMs, joining a team of engineers on a callout rota, and aspects of machine maintenance in accordance with our customer requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Undertake all aspects of planned preventative maintenance and suggest improvements.
2. Complete planned service rota.
3. Maintain the safety and well-being of yourself and others, in accordance with relevant Health & Safety legislation.
4. Responsible for mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs.
5. Liaise with engineering personnel to actively support innovation and improvements.
6. Ensure effective, timely incident/accident reporting, learn from incidents, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
7. Ensure effective time management/prioritisation of workload.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
1. City and Guilds, NVQ / SVQ or equivalent recognised apprenticeship (ideally Electrically biased).
2. Engineering experience in a similar operation including parcel handling, FMCG/manufacturing.
3. Inverter drives, SCADA control, profibus, Asi, PC/PLC control would be advantageous.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience of successfully delivering against contractual targets, PM schedules, and KPIs.
2. Experience of delivering a service provision on a site where strong permit to work systems are in place.
3. Extensive experience of managing and delivering improvements through the supply chain engineering service contracts.
4. Excellent, clear, and confident written skills, presentation skills, and report writing.
5. Ability to advise, negotiate, and influence at all levels.
6. Actively implements best practices and continuously reviews to improve service.
7. Commitment to ensure that all service promises are delivered to agreed standards and value for money.
8. Able to build effective working relations with staff members and external clients.
9. High level of self-motivation, organisational ability, and drive to meet deadlines.
10. Ability to prioritise work tasks for themselves and the team.
11. Technically competent in all aspects of the relevant distribution/sortation systems.
