Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Contract: Full time, temporary (with the potential for permanent positions)
Salary: Starting at £16 per hour

Long-Term Teachers have a unique opportunity to join one of our biggest special schools in Devon, providing outstanding educational care and support to students of all ages. Our school is seeking a talented, experienced, bubbly and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team.
Based on a stunning campus surrounded by beautiful woodland and the seaside, our school caters for students with autism and complex needs from 3 - 19 years. Therefore, there are opportunities to work across primary, secondary and post-16 levels.
With an adapted curriculum, no two days are the same. They have fantastic provisions such as a forest school, woodland walk, bike trail, swimming pool and much more! If you are an outgoing person who loves the outdoors, this is certainly a place you will love to work!
Responsibilities:
* Delivering whole class cover during the absence of the class teacher or during PPA cover
* Support the teacher in personalising the curriculum to allow the students to thrive
* Support the teacher with planning of future lessons
* Implement the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding the students
* Establish and maintain an enjoyable and safe learning environment
* Engage students in their lessons and foster a love for learning
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN and strategies to support a diverse range of needs. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to work well within a team. Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting young people is essential. You will have a Level 3 or 4 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools, Level 4 Diploma in Childcare and Education, or other relevant qualifications in nursery work or childcare.
