Role Overview: As a Graduate Data Scientist, you will support the Data Science team in strategic decision-making and operational policing. Your tasks will include data preparation, statistical analysis, applying data science techniques to predict and prevent crime, and presenting findings using data visualization tools. You will work with analysts, police officers, and IT professionals, ensuring ethical data use.

Skills And Experience
* A STEM-based degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent experience.
* Technical Skills: Basic understanding of programming languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with data analysis tools.
* Adaptability: An interest in data science techniques and an awareness of how they can be applied along with ability and versatility to learn innovative technologies and methodologies.
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present effectively.

Eligibility
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
