We now have a few opportunities for a Quantity Surveyor and an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join us on a full time basis, working from our Chesterfield offices. You will assume responsibility for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of some of our construction projects. In addition to this, as our Quantity Surveyor you will: Manage all commercial aspects of projects, including budgets, forecasts, and profitability Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and the supply chain Oversee subcontract management, including placing orders and processing payments Provide accurate commercial reporting to support project decision-making Ensure timely and accurate applications and contractual notices in line with requirements Prepare and agree on interim valuations, final accounts, and contractual variations Conduct contract appraisals and cost-value reconciliations for individual schemes Support project teams with contract compliance, change management, and financial matters Assist with contract programming and planning Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the commercial team, promoting professionalism and integrity Contribute to sustainability, social value, and health & safety initiatives Assist HR & Training with onboarding and performance management of staff Promote innovation and value across projects In order to be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate: Previous experience within the Construction industry in a similar commercial role. Experience of managing the commercial function on construction contracts - for a senior role with us. A strong understanding of commercial requirements on construction projects. A maintained working knowledge of current main construction contract forms (i.e., NEC 3 & 4 / JCT). An understanding of different methods of measurement e.g., CRAMM, Highways etc. Fully conversant with modern office equipment and Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel. Relevant Degree / Higher, Advanced or Foundation qualification. It would be great if you were prepared to work towards a Professional Qualification relevant to your role. A full UK Drivers license.
