Isover, part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland, is seeking an experienced Lead Plant Fitter with a strong passion for continuous improvement and leadership. As a Section Leader, you will oversee daily engineering activities, ensuring optimal plant efficiency and maintaining high standards of maintenance.
Based at our Runcorn site you’ll contribute to delivering sustainable, high-performance glass mineral wool insulation for thermal, acoustic and fire protection solutions.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a skilled Plant Fitter in Runcorn to lead maintenance activities, drive plant efficiency, and support team development
Experience in the following is an advantage, though we are open:
* Experience managing, mentoring, or supervising a team
* Time-served apprentice or equivalent experience
* Proficiency in pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes, and drives (or similar)
* Strong problem-solving skills, utilising continuous improvement techniques
* Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
* Efficient management of work orders and spare parts
* Desirable but not essential: Experience in welding, fabrication, lifting operations, and gas-fired process equipment
What You’ll Be Doing
As Section Leader, your key responsibilities will include:
* Supervising craftspeople and contractors to ensure safe and efficient maintenance activities
* Maximizing plant efficiency through continuous improvement and planned maintenance strategies
* Conducting fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs on mechanical systems
* Leading and developing your team by sharing technical knowledge and providing apprenticeship training
* Overseeing SCADA systems, CMMS (maintenance management system), and ensuring full compliance with health & safety regulations
