As part of our mission, we collect and recycle food from various locations, converting it into valuable resources such as compost and biogas. Bring the van to empty on the depot which is in E4 8GP.
You will be able to keep the van with you. Once the training is completed. You will be starting from your home to the routes you will be given.
Job Description: We are seeking reliable and responsible Food Waste Collection Drivers to operate 3.5 Tonne Vans
(CAT B) across the UK. Will be responsible for collecting food waste from commercial and residential clients, ensuring timely and efficient service. The role requires a customer focused attitude, a commitment to sustainability and the ability to handle physical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safely operates a 3.5 Tonne (CAT B) to collect food waste from designated routes nationwide.
2. Ensure timely and efficient collection according to the scheduled routes.
3. Interact professionally and courteously with clients, addressing any concerns and questions.
4. Accurately complete daily log sheet and maintain record of collections
5. Adhere to all traffic law and company safety procedures.
6. Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
7. Load and unload food waste containers, ensuring they are handled with care to avoid spillage.
8. collaborate with team members to optimize routes and improve service efficiency
9. report any discrepancies or issues encountered during collections to the supervisor.
Health and Safety:
10. Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
11. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
12. Attend regular health and safety training sessions.
13. Report any accidents, injuries or unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor.
14. Ensure food waste is handled in a hygienic and safe manner to prevent contamination.
Van Care:
15. Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure the van is in good working condition.
16. Keep the van clean and well-maintained at all times.
17. Report any mechanical issues or damages to the maintenance team promptly.
18. Ensure the van is stocked with necessary tools and equipment for the job.
Qualifications:
19. Valid UK driver’s license
20. Experience driving a 3.5 Tonne van (CAT B)
21. Ability to perform physical task, including lifting heavy containers (up to 25kg) and moving 200kg drums and wheely bins with trolley assistance.
22. Excellent time management skills and the ability to independently.
23. Strong communication skills and customer service skills.
24. knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
25. Basic understanding of waste management practice (is a plus)
