Job Title: Housing Team Leader - Refugee Service

The organisation
In this Housing Team Leader opportunity in Nottingham, you will join a charity helping young people, between the ages of 16-25, gain access to temporary accommodation as a result of being homeless The role Is to help manage a group of front line workers and deal with the day to day management as well as picking up a small case load.
Key responsibilities of a Housing Team Leader
1. Working in partnership with a Youth Support Worker to provide a seamless level of support to our young people.
2. Key worker to around 10-15 young people, who have had challenging starts in life and struggle to build positive relationships
3. Work with the young person in a trauma informed way to co-produce support plans, risk assessments, Outcome Stars, crisis plans and safety plans.
4. Creating a positive, nurturing and trusted environment for young people, always displaying unconditional positive support, whilst maintaining boundaries.
5. Act as a positive role model.
6. Working collaboratively with other agencies and professionals including social workers, personal advisors, housing providers, health professionals, drug and alcohol treatment workers, criminal justice practitioners to deliver wraparound support
7. Encouraging young people to problem-solve and identify coping strategies when experiencing trauma, distress, self-harm, anger etc
8. Proactively support young people to plan to move on to independent living. This includes advising on housing options, supporting with applications for housing to local authorities and exploring private sector accommodation options.
9. Encouraging young people to develop life-skills such as cleaning, cooking, budgeting, engaging with health services etc.
10. Encouraging young people to engage with education, training or employment.
11. Helping young people to navigate the Benefits systems, supporting with applications.
Requirements for a Housing Team Leader
12. Proven track record of working in a Senior/Team Leader role
13. Available to start asap - interim post for around 4-8 weeks
14. DBS on the update service - children and adult cleared
15. Can work flexibly 5 days over 7
