Job Description:
Location: Office-based
Company: Wernick Refurbished Buildings (part of The Wernick Group)
Position: Project Controller
Are you ready to take on a dynamic role where no two days are the same? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your impact is felt across major projects? If so, Wernick Refurbished Buildings wants you to be part of our journey!
Who We Are:
We’re Wernick Refurbished Buildings, a proud division of The Wernick Group, the UK’s largest provider of modular buildings. With an impressive 90 years of innovation and family-owned success, we’ve doubled our profits in the last five years—and we’re just getting started! Our secret? A team full of passion, vision, and a relentless "can-do" attitude.
The Role: Project Controller
As our Project Controller, you'll be at the heart of our operations—coordinating exciting modular and cabin projects from start to finish. You'll oversee everything, with the full support of the Projects Director, from initial handovers to snag-free project completion, making sure each step runs smoothly, on time, and within budget. This isn’t just another desk job—you’ll be required to attend and host site meetings with the client, and work closely with our dynamic teams, ensuring every project you touch is a success.
Key responsibilities:
1. Manage all project documentation and administration (both electronic and paper-based).
2. Conduct detailed handovers from sales and coordinate with production teams.
3. Maintain accurate project costing sheets, managing costs and revenues to maximize profitability.
4. Clarify project specifications and manage variations directly with clients.
5. Ensure Health & Safety documents, site plans, and other paperwork are submitted timely.
6. Liaise with internal teams (design, production) and key suppliers to ensure project plans are delivered to client specifications.
7. Attend internal and external meetings to ensure smooth project delivery.
8. Ensure project-specific documents like O&M Manuals are delivered to clients on time.
9. Help site teams ensure snag-free project handovers.
10. Coordinate site activity with the Projects Director when necessary.
11. Take the lead on all after sales issues.
12. To aid the Project Team in the compiling of all site H&S documentation.
Who we are looking for:
* A team player, but is able to work well individually on their own initiative.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
* Strength in project administration.
* Knowledge of lifting operations and safe use of cranes (advantageous).
* Strong understanding of modular and off-site construction is essential. Any applications without modular experience will be rejected.
* This role would suit a Site manager or Project manager in the same industry.
What you will get in return:
* Competitive salary with bonus scheme
* Generous holiday allowance (increases with service), plus options to buy/sell holidays
* Early finish on Fridays (working hours 8-4 M-T and 8-2.45 Friday)
* 35 hour week
* Christmas shutdown
* Cycle to work scheme
* Annual salary reviews (every January)
* Life Assurance (2x annual salary)
* Free onsite parking
* Employee assistance programme
* Training and progression opportunities
* Open door policy in a family-run, secure business - trading 91 years this year!
* Discounts at selected retailers
* Corporate Eyecare Scheme through Specsavers
* Opportunity to provide feedback and ideas that you get rewarded for!
