We are seeking an experienced Import and Export Manager to oversee and optimize the company’s international and domestic supply chain operations. This role involves managing imports from Taiwan, China, and Europe, export ing goods to the EU, North America, and South America, and ensuring smooth logistics operations within the UK. The successful candidate will lead a warehouse team and work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customers to achieve cost-effective, efficient, and compliant logistics operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Import and Export Operations: • Manage and oversee the full import/ export process, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company standards. • Develop and maintain relationships with international suppliers in Taiwan, China, and Europe, negotiating contracts and securing cost-effective shipping solutions. • Coordinate export s to the EU, North America, and South America, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. • Monitor and manage shipping schedules, freight costs, and delivery timelines to minimize delays and costs. • Prepare, verify, and process necessary documentation such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin. 2. Customs and Compliance: • Ensure compliance with UK and international trade laws, including Incoterms, tariffs, and customs declarations. • Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to policies or processes. • Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to resolve clearance issues quickly and efficiently. 3. Domestic Logistics and Warehouse Management: • Oversee UK logistics operations, including transportation, distribution, and inventory control. • Manage the warehouse team, ensuring efficient operations, accurate stock management, and adherence to health and safety standards. • Implement and optimize warehouse processes to improve productivity, reduce errors, and support business growth. • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment between warehouse operations and broader supply chain strategies. 4. Strategy and Process Improvement: • Analyze supply chain performance metrics and identify areas for cost reduction and operational efficiency. • Develop strategies to mitigate risks in supply chain operations, including supplier disruptions and geopolitical issues. • Implement new systems or technologies to enhance logistics capabilities and streamline operations. 5. Leadership and Team Management: • Provide leadership and mentorship to the warehouse and logistics team. • Set objectives, monitor performance, and implement training to support professional development. • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Qualifications and Skills • Experience: Ideally approx 5 years in an import/ export management role, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment. • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field (preferred). • Knowledge: • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures. • Proficiency in logistics and freight management, including sea, air, and road transport. • Experience with warehouse operations and team management. • Skills: • Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Proficient in logistics and supply chain software (e.g., ERP systems, WMS). • Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills. • Other Requirements: • Familiarity with UK/EU post-Brexit trade regulations. • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
