Due to the retirement of the current CEO, this Matlock based charity is looking for a compassionate and value-driven leader to steer the charity into the next chapter.
About the Charity
This well-established charity based in Matlock is seeking an experienced and visionary leader with a good understanding of rural issues. Set up in 1924, the charity aims to improve the lives of those living and working in Derbyshire to have access to services and jobs so that no one should be unfairly disadvantaged because they live in a rural area.
Their ambition is to address rural disadvantages, ensuring rural communities are sustainable, vibrant and accessible to everyone regardless of age, background or income. They make their beneficiaries' lives better by offering advice, support and training to individuals and communities, as well as initiatives such as providing transport options to help people get to work, and running an oil buying scheme to help keep energy costs down for more isolated properties.
They have a highly motivated and knowledgeable staff team who use their unique talents and skills to provide a wide range of services. They are committed to making a difference to the lives of people in our rural communities.
About the Role
The next CEO will provide strategic leadership and vision for the charity, working closely with the Board of Trustees and staff team to drive the charity’s mission and objectives. The CEO will be responsible for leading the organisation's strategic direction, ensuring sustainability, and representing the charity externally to strengthen partnerships and raise the charity’s profile.
It is essential that the new CEO can demonstrate a deep understanding of the unique challenges rural communities face, ensuring the charity’s work is impactful and community-centered. The new CEO must have experience of successfully managing a team of staff, securing new income streams, and the development and delivery of services.
The charity is seeking someone who is both compassionate and supportive, with an inspirational ability to lead by empowering those around them. If you are a resilient, values-driven leader with a passion to make a difference, then you may be the person they are looking for.
They offer a great benefits package with enhanced annual leave. As an employer, they are committed to flexible working, and the next CEO will have the autonomy to plan and manage their own diary and time, taking into account the needs of their role and the staff team. The charity respects everyone's individual identity, celebrates difference, and encourages applications from all candidates irrespective of background.
