Senior HR Advisor on a 6-month FTC basis Salary: £37,000 - £41,500 pro rata, dependent on experience Hybrid working – 1 day a week in the office Public Sector We are seeking a professional HR Advisor to provide comprehensive HR support on a 6-month FTC basis within the public sector. This role involves advising on employee relations, leading specific casework, and contributing to organisational development and recruitment projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR practices and employment law, with the ability to support and guide management effectively. Day-to-day of the role: Provide professional HR advice, guidance, and support on various employee relations issues including terms of employment, organisational policy, and compliance with employment law. Lead specific casework related to disciplinary, grievance, and capability issues, offering resolutions and collaborating with trade union representatives as needed. Manage sickness casework in accordance with the policies, including making referrals to Occupational Health and attending formal meetings. Take charge of assigned policy development, including research, benchmarking, and stakeholder consultation before implementation. Contribute to the coaching and mentoring of HR team members to enhance their HR knowledge and ensure consistent delivery of HR processes. Lead recruitment projects to enhance the recruitment offerings and services for both councils. Support organisational development plans and new projects to help the councils achieve transformational goals in line with corporate business plans. Act as a deputy for the HR Services Manager and represent the councils on various corporate projects. Identify and implement learning and development interventions to support personal, team, and organisational development, including managing apprenticeship schemes. Undertake training as required to meet service and organisational needs. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in HR, preferably within a public sector or similar environment. Strong understanding of employment law and employee relations. Experience in handling HR casework including disciplinary and grievance issues. Ability to develop and implement HR policies and procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with all levels of staff and management.
