Through our transmission and distribution network we provide power to customers in Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and North Shropshire as well as Central and Southern Scotland. The Performance Reporting team monitors and communicates the performance of operational businesses against the regulatory contract, covering costs, asset interventions, income, commitments, and business deliverables. Within this team our Senior Reporting Analysts are responsible for developing a reporting suite which enables the operation business and executive teams to understand the performance of the three licenced businesses: SP Distribution (SPD), SP Manweb (SPM) and SP Transmission (SPT). By establishing relationships across the organisation and enhancing our information and systems, our senior analysts communicate the business performance in comparison to price control settlements and internal targets. The insight and information provided by the team from provides key information to support day to day decision making and is fundamental to ensuring that regulatory contracts are successfully delivered. What you’ll be doing You will be developing an understanding of the complex regulatory framework which all UK Distribution and Transmission operators are required to deliver, as well as an understanding the regulatory contract which each of SPD, SPM and SPT will deliver over the next five year. You will be establishing and communicating an extensive suite of regulatory performance reporting on the SPD, SPM and SPT Licence performance. Developing benchmarking and analytical capabilities to optimise the delivery of price control settlements & cost assessment and preparation of annual & price control business plan data tables (BPDTs) to prioritise key deliverables, ensuring engineering, regulatory and financial constraints are managed in line with expectations. Engaging and communicating directly with the operational business, across all levels of the organisation, and supporting business delivery against the regulatory contract, assisting in the prioritisation of investments, and ensuring regulatory and financial constraints are managed and optimised. Support the business in their ability to drive value and enhanced opportunities from the delivery of their investment plan and will guide and support the business to minimise regulatory risk. Use new and advanced software solutions to develop enhanced analytical capabilities, and to improve internal processes, in conjunction with the wider business, ensuring at all times that data is captured and reported in a timely manner and to a high standard. Assist in preparing presentations and responses to requests for information from a wide array of both internal and external stakeholders. Support SPEN representation on Ofgem and industry working groups, driving actions and outputs that will benefit SPEN, and coordinating this with wider NP&R teams. What you’ll bring Degree qualified in Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar business experience/qualification. Understanding of the UK regulatory framework, ability to drive value / opportunities and minimise regulatory risk, including specialist knowledge relating to the regulatory mechanisms which link Totex with revenue. Understanding of the methodologies of Cost assessment, and experience in the application of statistical analysis, as well as ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly for business benefit to senior management desirable. Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills, communicating objectives and delivering projects with multiple milestones. Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges and applying innovative thinking. Ability to work in collaboration with multi-disciplined teams and in consultation with others in the business to resolve differences and present a common agreed perspective.
