Job Description:
We are looking for a Rent and Service Charge Accountant to lead CHP’s rent charge review activities. This includes rent setting policy and service charge coordination, working with the asset management team and leaseholders to achieve value for money for customers. You will also take ownership of compliance with rent standard and undertake a strategic role for regulatory assurance and lead on process optimisation and automation for rent and service charge functions.
What you'll be doing:
* Maintain policies and procedures for rent and service charge setting.
* Review service charge levels regularly to ensure value for money for CHP customers, and lead the budget setting process for service charges, including new and existing properties.
* Set annual rent charges and budgets, providing reports to the Board for approval.
* Assess and understand CHP’s rent charge financial position at all times, and reconcile all rent charges, including holding accounts.
* Manage customer queries and resolve issues related to annual rent charges, providing information to the customer resolution centre for timely and high-quality resolution.
What we are looking for:
* Professional accountant, part-qualified CCAB, or Association of Accounting Technicians.
* At least four years of experience in a general finance operation, with knowledge of social housing rent regulations and service charge administration.
* Extensive experience in collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, and accounts.
* A track record of engaging with management across an organisation, particularly those within a service centre / customer-facing environment.
* An excellent communicator who can adapt their style to engage their audiences.
* Strong experience in distilling complex analysis and presenting findings succinctly.
The salary for this post will be £50,000 Per Annum.
