We are looking for a Water Systems Optimisation Manager to join Thames Water on a permanent basis.
You will be responsible for the System Optimisation Team who are in place to provide analytics, consultation, and technical management to the wider clean water operational community.
* The main office base is flexible depending on the successful candidate, the role involves managing a geographical area in Thames Valley West - Swindon/Oxford/Reading.
* Hybrid contract, working 3 days a week in the office.
* You will work 36 hours a week Monday to Friday, along with participating in an out-of-hours rota for escalations and advice, for which you will receive additional payments.
What you will be doing as a Water Systems Optimisation Manager?
* You will be part of the regional Water System Performance Team, guiding the technical performance and development of a team of Engineers and Analysts whilst promoting a safe, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
* Ensure the use of data analytics leads to informed decision making to improve the performance and resilience of our clean water asset base to maintain a stable and wholesome supply of water to our customers.
* By collaboration across a variety of operational stakeholders, you will be a dynamic participant in the implementation of localised strategies to support the delivery of our Water Resource Management Plan.
* When clean water operational difficulties arise, you will provide technical insight and leadership to alleviate the risk of supply interruptions or water quality failures that may otherwise be felt by our customers.
What should you bring to the role?
* Previous experience managing people with a proven track record of engaging and developing their team.
* Able to demonstrate a strong focus on continuous improvement.
* You will be used to taking the initiative and achieving results ideally within a similar industry.
* Possess an understanding of the clean water operational environment and the hydraulic water systems that form water industry infrastructure.
* You will need to be proficient in using IT equipment/systems and be able to interpret and manage data.
* You will have the ability and experience to support and guide technical teams and develop strategies and processes, have good analytical, problem-solving, reasoning, and negotiating skills.
* Possess a keen appetite for root cause analysis, problem solving, and delivering solutions at pace.
* Leadership and influencing skills are essential as you will work with a wide range of stakeholders at all organisational levels to achieve shared objectives.
* Due to the nature of this role, a full valid driving licence is needed.
