Role Information: The moderator role is responsible for carrying out assurance activities, ensuring they align with awarding organisation and internal requirements. Applying a development-first approach, you will identify and support any delivery staff development needs to provide a focused and wrap-around service. You will support the quality assurance process across the provision and Education sector provision delivered by Learning Curve Group (LCG), for example; Access to HE diplomas, Level 2 and 3 courses related to Digital, Business, and Health & Social Care. You will support the Quality Manager with any external quality visits or external stakeholders the provision works with.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure that assurance sampling and development activities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with the Quality framework, individual development needs, and external partner requirements, reporting to appropriate managers.
* Review the best practices seen from the assurance and development activities and contribute to the approaches to transfer and capture impact across the provision.
* Proactively drive monthly completions with allocated delivery according to predictions.
* Participate in the coaching and training provided to the delivery team via the online platform and measure the impact on processes within the learner journey.
* Support operational teams in developing reflective and evaluative practice during self-assessment and improvement planning activities.
* Positively challenge where quality is not met and drive continuous improvement in the professional practice of delivery staff.
* Liaise with appropriate staff to ensure that systems in support of teaching, learning, and assessment are fully implemented.
* Support and ensure delivery staff embed the cross-cutting wider skill themes throughout the learning programme.
* Contribute to the staff recruitment and induction process and assure the suitability of new delivery staff.
* Work closely with the Curriculum Development team to advise on the development and revision of curriculum in the identified provision area.
* Undertake CPD and sector updating to ensure the contractual requirements of the post and the needs of the department are met.
* Provide Line Manager with accurate and up-to-date information.
* Ensure the completion of all moderation paperwork/online documentation required to meet audit requirements.
* Undertake observations of teaching, learning, and assessment.
* Carry out sector-specific standardisation activities remotely via teams in line with internal and Awarding Organisation requirements.
Qualifications:
* Level 3 or above qualification related to sector area of expertise.
* Level 2 numeracy and literacy (or GCE/GCSE equivalent).
* Relevant Assessor Qualification.
* Relevant Quality Qualification.
* Relevant Teaching Qualification (desirable).
Experience:
* Appropriate teaching, assessing, and moderator experience in terms of breadth and depth.
* Vocational experience within the sector for which you will moderate of at least 3 years.
* Experience of working with level three and Access to HE (highly desirable).
* Coaching and developing the practice of others.
* A track record of outcomes against KPIs.
* A trend of consistently good or better teaching observations.
* Demonstrable experience of sharing practice and resources.
* Managing change.
* Delivering and assessing teaching and assessor qualifications (desirable).
* Demonstrate experience of developing and quality assuring practitioners using a range of digital programmes/platforms.
* Solid knowledge of office software such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
Knowledge:
* Detailed knowledge of the Education Inspection Framework.
* Detailed knowledge of a company’s Quality Framework and audit regime.
* Detailed and practical understanding of teaching, learning, and assessment for learning.
* Detailed knowledge of Internal Quality Assurance.
* Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
