An exciting opportunity to work at Musgrove Park Hospital as a Band size Deputy Ward Manager on Conservators Ward, which specialises in General Medicine and Endocrine. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to lead a team and strive to deliver outstanding patient care.
You will require good communication skills, a team-centred approach and be able to provide a high standard of nursing care with the support of your team.
This advert is open to registered Nurses with at least two years experience.
Main duties of the job
To provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of a ward, in the absence of the Ward Manager, which empowers staff to deliver patient-centred, evidence-based nursing care within a defined budget.
Establish systems for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trust's patient and public involvement strategy.
Delivers patient care on a daily basis.

Qualifications
* RGN
* Diploma and working towards or willing to work towards degree level
* Teaching/Mentorship Qualification
* Must be able to communicate in English language, both written and verbally appropriate to the post
* Speciality course or competencies in clinical skills relevant to the speciality of the ward
* First Level/Supervisory Management Qualification or Course
Experience
* Minimum of two years experience at Band 5
* Proven experience of clinical leadership of a team and leading team through change
* Experience of mentoring
