CRE Track – North West and Central Renewals

Murphy are enhancing our track delivery capability and are interested to hear from candidates able to confidently take on a Track Contractor’s Responsible Engineer – Construction, CRE (C), role across our North West and Central region ideally located at either our Golborne, Cannock or Kentish Town offices.
The CRE Track role will play a pivotal part in the successful development and implementation of the portfolio of renewals works, including bridge, stations, drainage and earthworks projects. During the development stage your particular focus will be on influencing design organisations to develop designs that can be built efficiently and safely. During the construction phases you will oversee the engineering and construction teams, ensuring the works are built right first time.
What you will be doing:
1. Regular liaison with designers to ensure designs are efficient and safe to build, install, test, and commission
2. Regular contact with the client to progressively assure designs, including participation in IDC/IDRs
3. Input into the Project Execution Plan to document the planned construction methodologies
4. Approval of detailed construction methodologies produced by the project teams e.g. WPP / TBS / RA’s
5. Approval of inspection and test plans / commissioning plans produced by the project teams
6. Review design submissions for quality and completeness
7. Reviewing the construction programmes for completeness and integration with other disciplines
8. Managing engineers to ensure Critical Rail Temperatures and Track Monitoring is recorded and reported.
9. Ensuring Track Handback Engineers complete Form A-G accurately
10. Assist team members CEM / QS / PM as required with engineering input
11. Attend site as required to liaise with Site Managers, Engineers and sub-contractors
12. Managing ESRs and TSRs
Who we are looking for:
13. A proactive engineering manager who can coordinate and resolve challenges between interfacing disciplines and specialist contractors.
14. BEng or MEng (Desirable)
15. Working knowledge of NR Standards.
16. Experience in the Design and Construction of Plain Line, Switches & Crossings, Track Bed and Formation, Track Drainage and UTXs.
17. Previous CRE Construction experience or ability to be mentored into the role.
18. Track Handback Engineer (Desirable)
